It is hard to believe that another school year is over.  How quick time flies when you’re having fun, right? J  Well, there is still more fun yet to come.  Next week is going to be filled with many great times and memories.  Below you will find all of the details that you need to know.  Please do not hesitate to ask something if need be.

Students received an itinerary and a luggage tag yesterday.  The itinerary should be left at home so that you know where we are and what we are doing at all times.  The luggage tag should be on their suitcase (and yes, that was singular, no more than one!)  The following items should be packed in their suitcase:

  • ·
  • ·         Shoes (Comfortable shoes for walking, gym shoes for zip-lining, flip flops for pool area)
  • ·         Pajamas
  • ·         Swimming Suit
  • ·
  • ·         Sack Lunch (see below)
  • ·

The students should NOT pack anything that they are concerned about getting lost or stolen.  NO COMPUTERS, iPADS OR GAMING SYSTEMS!  iPods, movies (not rated R), personal DVD players, and personal gaming systems are allowed, but they are responsible for keeping track of their belongings.  Students may bring their cell phone, but it will immediately be turned in to me.  (I will give a 10 to 15 minute window at night for students to call home.)

On Tuesday morning, the students should arrive at school at 5:45 am.  They need to bring a sack lunch with them for Tuesday’s meal (or their own money to buy lunch at the zoo).  We will return back to school on Thursday evening around 9:30 pm.  The students will text/call when we are about 30 minutes away.  If anyone would like to donate snack type food items or case of water to the class, it would be greatly appreciated.

On Friday, 8th grade needs to be at school no later than 10:00 am for Kindergarten graduation.  They are welcome to come in at 8:45 am however.  For lunch, Mrs. Franklin, Mr. Benedict, and I will take the 8th grade to Piece (a pizza place) for lunch on North Ave.  The students should bring money for lunch and for the el-ride.  When we return, we will have graduation practice and clean out lockers.  Students need to make sure that EVERYTHING is turned in on Friday, in order to participate in graduation on Saturday.

On Saturday, 8th grade needs to meet in Ellinger Hall to get prepared for graduation at 9:00 am.  They should be sure to have their neatly pressed gown, along with their cap.  (I kept the tassels and the ladies collars.)  They are encouraged to bring with them their awards from Recognition Dinner.  (If you want to put the pins on early, please put them on the student’s right side of the gown.)
